This medication is used to treat or prevent bacterial eye infections. This product contains neomycin, bacitracin, and polymyxin, which are antibiotics that work by stopping the growth of bacteria. It also contains hydrocortisone, which is an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid that works by reducing swelling.
Composition
Each gram contains:
- Polymyxin B Sulfate B.P. equivalent to Polymyxin: 5000 units
- Bacitracin Zinc B.P. equivalent to Bacitracin: 400 units
- Neomycin Sulfate B.P. equivalent to Neomycin: 3400 units
- Hydrocortisone B.P: 10 mg
- Petrolatum Base to: 1.0 g
Suggested Usage
- A 10 mm ribbon of ointment should be placed inside the lower conjunctival sac every 3-4 hours depending on severity of the condition.
- Only used as a directed by the physician.
