The combination of Amlodipine, Valsartan, and Hydrochlorothiazide in this tablet works synergistically to lower blood pressure through multiple mechanisms of action. Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, inhibits the influx of calcium ions into smooth muscle cells, leading to vasodilation and reduced peripheral vascular resistance. Valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, blocks the binding of angiotensin II to its receptors, resulting in relaxation of blood vessels and decreased blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, increases urinary excretion of sodium and water, reducing plasma volume and subsequently lowering blood pressure. Together, these mechanisms contribute to the effective management of hypertension by reducing systemic vascular resistance and promoting fluid elimination.
- Used to relax and widen blood vessels, reducing strain on the heart
- Used to eliminate excess fluid and salt, helping to lower blood pressure
