Description

Treatment of bacterial infection of the eye and its adnexa, including, conjunctivitis, keratitis, corneal ulcerative and ulcerative blepharitis.

Composition
Each gram contains:

  • Polymyxin B Sulfate B.P. equivalent to Polymyxin: 10000 units
  • Bacitracin Zinc B.P. equivalent to Bacitracin: 500 units
  • Petrolatum Base to: 1.0 g

Suggested Usage

  • Wash and dry your hands
  • Open the cap of the tube
  • Tilt your head back and hold the tube of the Polyfax eye ointment above your affected eye
  • Using the index finger of your other hand pull down your lower eyelid to form a pocket
  • Squeeze the tube to apply a thin layer of eye ointment inside the pocket of your lower eyelid
  • To spread the medication, close the eye and roll the eyeball in all directions
  • Repeat these steps for your other eye if it is also affected
  • Do not let the tube touch your eye, eyelid, or eyelashes
  • Use it once or twice a day as directed by your physician
  • Keep using the ointment for the full time prescribed even if your condition improves
